PERSONAL RECORDS

Greg passed away on 25 July 2020.

Donations in his memory can be made to British Heart Foundation.

His partner, Katy, will monitor his email if anyone wants to get in touch.

Personal Records was originally conceived by Greg Holt in 1978 to release an L.P. record of the Time Wasters on the 'Sticky Label'. It was made at Ingestre Hall, Sandwell Residential Arts Centre. Greg was Music Tutor there at the time and wanted to promote some of the many talented young musicians who passed through Ingestre on short courses, a group of whom formed the Time Wasters. The Time Wasters album was the first release on the Sticky Label.

The Sticky Label continues to release new recordings of students in Sandwell as well as other original material. These are produced by former Ingestre student and Time Waster Jon Pye, who leads workshops at the "Tuesday Coffee Social" in Sandwell and at Ingestre Hall in the tradition of the Time Wasters.

Personal Records holds an archive of recordings from Greg's lifetime involvement in musical events, as well as making new digital recordings. Jon Pye, John Pincher and Greg recently recorded five songs with John "Hutch" Hutchinson, former Bowie sideman, who had played at Ingestre in the '70s and '80s. "The Streets Of Amsterdam", "Joe Won't Dance", "Nothin' Bout The Blues", "On My Elbows", and "1960" can be found on Hutch's site.
